Chairman Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), Mr. Farid Ahmad Tarar, visited Government College University (GCU) Lahore, where he met with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Omer Chaudhry to discuss matters of mutual interest.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between CCP and GCU Lahore in the areas of competition advocacy, public awareness, academic engagement, and capacity building. Both sides discussed introducing competition law and policy courses, promoting a culture of competition compliance, and developing initiatives to equip future professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to foster competitive and consumer-friendly markets.

Chairman Tarar emphasized the importance of academia in nurturing future policymakers, lawyers, economists, and business leaders who understand the value of fair competition in driving innovation, economic growth, and consumer welfare.

Both institutions agreed to explore avenues for closer collaboration through joint seminars, research, internships, faculty engagement, and other academic initiatives aimed at promoting competition law and policy in Pakistan.
