The Legal Department manages the legal affairs of CCP, providing legal advice and assistance to operational departments and undertakings on matters pertaining to the Act. This department, under the mandate of the Commission’s leadership, also serves as a liaison with the Federal Government, its ministries, and other regulatory authorities.

The Legal Department is also assigned the responsibility of drafting and proposing secondary legislation, such as rules and regulations, and scrutinising it to ensure its compliance with the law.
