Upon the invitation of Ms. Rahat Kaunain Hassan, Chairperson of the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), H.E. Mr. Adam Mulawarman Tugio, Ambassador of Indonesia to Pakistan, visited the CCP head office today. The purpose of this visit was to discuss potential areas of collaboration between Pakistan and Indonesia in the field of competition law and policy. During the meeting, Mr. Tugio emphasized the importance of cooperation between the competition agencies of Pakistan and Indonesia. He highlighted the potential for collaboration in areas such as capacity building, knowledge sharing through exchange of case studies, and staff exchange programs. Such collaboration, he believed, would strengthen bilateral relations and foster the growth of competition in both Indonesia and Pakistan. In her welcoming remarks, Ms. Rahat Kaunain Hassan said that CCP feels deeply honoured and grateful for His Excellency's visit. She then shed light on the shared competition concerns and challenges faced by both countries in enforcing competition law. She identified various areas where the CCP and the Indonesian Competition Agency could work together to promote competition and making the markets functional, vibrant, and competitive, including agriculture, public procurement, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), digital markets as well as forensic investigation and data science analysis. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both the Competition Commission of Pakistan and the Indonesian Embassy, including Mr. Axelsyah R Miraza, the Third Secretary of the Indonesian Embassy, underscoring the significance and commitment towards enhancing collaboration between the two Commissions.
