The Legal Department manages the legal affairs of CCP, providing legal advice and assistance to operational departments and undertakings on matters pertaining to the Act. This department, under the mandate of the Commission’s leadership, also serves as a liaison with the Federal Government, its ministries, and other regulatory authorities.
The Legal Department is also assigned the responsibility of drafting and proposing secondary legislation, such as rules and regulations, and scrutinising it to ensure its compliance with the law.
It also houses the Office of the Registrar, which issues show cause notices, arranges hearings and assists the Original and Appellate Benches of CCP by providing administrative and legal support. The Registrar also represents the Commission in litigation matters before the various courts of Pakistan, preparing pleadings to be filed in all litigation related matters.
