Ms. Vadiyya Khalil has joined the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) as Member Mergers & Acquisitions. Ms. Khalil has a rich and varied experience in corporate and commercial banking extending over 18 years in international and national banks including Credit Agricole, ANZ Grindlays, MCB (Ltd), Askari Bank (Ltd) and the National Bank of Pakistan. Her last assignment was EVP/Country Head Corporate Banking and Chief Credit Officer at Askari Bank (Ltd). Ms Khalil has a Masters’ degree in Management Sciences from the University of Kent, United Kingdom and has specialized in Corporate Strategy, Operations Research and Techniques of Management. Mr. Tariq Bakhtawar has also joined CCP as Director General (Investigations). Before joining CCP, Mr. Bakhtawar was Director Enforcement at the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan where he was responsible for monitoring and surveillance of the listed companies. There, he also developed fraud detection and investigation structure, which subsequently led to investigation of companies that had misappropriated substantial amount of shareholders worth. Mr. Bakhtawar is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. He carries substantial work experience in the investigation of white collar crimes, corporate laws, accounting and auditing.
