The Consumer Association of Pakistan (CAP) has urged the government to nominate Khalid Aziz Mirza, the Chairman Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) for Hilal-e-Imtiaz in recognition of his services to promote competition in the country’s economy and protect consumers’ interests. Chairman CAP Kaukab Iqbal and former President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry S M Munir, proposed this at a ceremony organized by the Consumer Association of Pakistan in honour of Khalid Mirza to recognize his efforts to protect Pakistani consumers. Chairman CAP Kaukab Iqbal in his welcome speech appreciated Khalid Mirza for the measures taken by him against cartelization and implementation of competition law in its entirety, which has been recognized in global competition forum. He said that due to CCP consumers have got relief in the price of many essential items to quit an extent. He proposed Khalid Mirza’s name for Hilal-e-Imtiaz. Leading businessman and former President of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry S M Munir in his speech appreciated the Chairman CCP for his services and proposed to the government to recognize his services by nominating him for Hilal-e-Imtiaz.
