Islamabad,

The Competition Commission of Pakistan represented the country in the 6th United Nations Conference to review the UN Set on Competition Policy held in Geneva from 8 to 12 November 2010. The conference was held under the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) program on issues in competition law and policy. CCP was represented by its Member Dr. Joseph Wilson who gave a presentation on “Competition Leniency in Pakistan.” In his presentation, Dr. Wilson noted that with the competition law in Pakistan now being permanent, the leniency tool will be effective in detecting, and where detected, in strengthening the case of the Commission against cartels. The conference, held every five years, was attended by officials of competition agencies and representatives of UN Agencies, NGOs and inter-governmental organizations from around the world.
