Government reappoints CCP members .

The Federal Government has reappointed Ms. Rahat Kaunain Hassan, Mr. Abdul Ghaffar and Dr. Joseph Wilson as Members of the Competition Commission of Pakistan and appointed Mr. Mueen Batlay as a new Member of the Commission. A notification issued by the Finance Division in exercise of the powers conferred by Sub-Section 14 and Section 17 of the Competition Act, 2010 also stated that Ms. Rahat Kaunain Hassan has been appointed Chairperson of the Commission as notified on 26 July 2010. Section 17 specifies a term of three years for the office of the Chairman and Members of the CCP. The Members have been reappointed with effect from the date of expiry of their first terms. With these appointments, the Competition Commission of Pakistan now comprises of 5 Members including the Chairperson. Ms. Vadiyya Khalil is already serving as Member.
