After its successful launch in Islamabad on 4th December, 2015 and completing the awareness drive in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the “Competition Caravan,” the National Road Show on Competition Law, being conducted by the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), enters Punjab where the business community will be briefed on the Competition Law to improve compliance. As part of the Road Show, the CCP teams will start its journey in Punjab by holding a seminar in the Gujrat Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Monday, 14 December, and then seminars will be held in the Chambers of Commerce & Industry and Trade Associations of Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Sargodha on 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 21st December, respectively. The “Competition Caravan” will complete its journey in Punjab by holding seminars in Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce & Industry on 29th and 30th December, after which the Caravan will enter Sindh.

The “Competition Caravan” is a major advocacy initiative of CCP aimed at raising awareness and understanding of the Competition Law to help create a compliant business culture. During this Road Show, a wide array of stakeholders including multinational corporations, national companies, professional bodies as well as small and medium enterprises, are being approached for the purpose of advocacy.

The Road Show has elicited massive response of the business community as CCP has received several more request from other business bodies for their inclusion in the Road Show. Moreover a large number of complaints concerning competition issues are being raised during these advocacy sessions. The local and national media has been particularly supportive by giving coverage to the Road Show events thus facilitating the dissemination of information to the general public.
